9 Month Stats

Yesterday I took Grace in for her 9 month check up. She weighed in at 17 pounds, 5 oz (25th percentile) and is 27.75 inches (50th percentile) long. The doctor said she looked great and is on track developmentally. They gave her her last Hep B shot (which she was not happy about) and poked her toe to get some blood to check her iron level (which surprisingly didn't phase her at all). Her iron level was a little low, so we have to give her a vitamin with added iron and will recheck it in 3 months. He said this is common in breastfed babies, and her level was only point 2 away from being normal so it wasn't a big deal at this point.

The doctor said we can now try yogurt and cheese if we want and to continue to try out more finger foods. So far she has had noodles, banana, chicken, ground beef, peas, green beans, potato, blueberries and some bits of a bagel thin. She loves to feed herself so I really need to start adding more to her tray each day.

It is always great to hear that Grace is looking good and growing well - we must be doing something right!

Grace's 9 month photos

As promised here is the link to Grace's 9 month photos. They came out great. I get 10 digital images as part of our package and I am not sure how I am going to chose just 10! Here is the link:

Grace has new tricks.

The other night Grace decided she could pull herself up in the bathtub of all places. She was pretty proud of her slippery self. Brian and I had been talking about lowering the matress in her crib for weeks and when he returned from walking the dog I called him into the bathroom and Grace showed him her new trick. Right after that I told Brian to lower the crib matress - now! She has so far only done it in the bathtub, but I suspect she will start pulling herself up all over the house soon.

As I mentioned before Grace is off and army crawling like crazy. She has even started to follow us out of whatever room she might be playing in. She is getting really fast. After her bath I went to clean her glasses and caught her getting ready to show off her new skill by going after a toy.

Today I went and had Grace's 9 month photos taken. We had lots of fun with Miss Ann who took her photos. A link is to come so you all can see them.

This week we have Grace's 9 month check up and a normal work week ahead. Here is hoping it gets warm and a bit more spring like around here.

Videos!

Here are a couple of videos I finally uploaded recently. Enjoy!

Happy 9 month Birthday Grace!

Aunty K's Visit

Last weekend my sister Katie came to visit us. We were all very excited to see her as she had just gotten engaged. We had a great time taking her wedding dress shopping and she had a chance to decide what kinds of things she did and didn't like about a wedding dress. Katie had a great time seeing Grace and was just amazed how much she has changed and learned in the short 4 months since she had seen her. Katie even picked out the flower girl dress she wants Grace to wear in March 2011 when she gets married. I have no doubt Grace will look great, but I wonder at 18 months of age if she will in fact make it down the aisle. Only time will tell.

Grace even got in on the wedding action and checked out my veil that I wore as I was showing it to Katie as an item to possibly borrow if she wanted.

After many attempts to get a photo of th one tooth Grace has sprouted I finally got the perfect shot! She loves when I say "Awwww Nuts!" during dinner time and always laughs and smiles, it is pretty darn cute.

Grace is also an escape artist in the bathtub.

And a banana stealer when I am trying to have one in the morning.

And is now loving to clap!

We hope we get to see Aunty K again soon - it was a great visit.

It's time for some baseball!

Grace is ready - go Cubs go!

Happy Easter!

We headed up to Fort Collins on Saturday to hang out with Grandma G and have some fun for the weekend. We had a great time and had fun watching Grace enjoy her first Easter basket. She loved shaking the eggs full of jelly beans. Saturday night we had Wayne's Pizza. This is my mom's favorite pizza that she brings home from Chicago frozen and it is a special treat when she shares it. LOL. Grace sure did want some too...someday Grace, someday.

We got up today and Grace found that the Easter bunny had visited her.

Back off, this is my basket!

Is this really for me?!
Mmm....pez is good.
After checking out her Easter basket we got ready to go to church. It was the oddest day weather wise. When we left to go to church is was snowing. Now keep in mind the forecast was for it to be 65 today. When we got out of church it was a bright sunshining day. As we say here, only in Colorado.

Today was the first time Grace had been to church. We had to go to the school gym for church since the main church was full. The school is actually my elementary school. It was fun to go in the school and see all they had done to it. I have to say though, it still smells the same in there after all of these years.

When church was over we headed outside to take some photos in our Sunday best.

What is this green stuff?

This final Easter photo you can kind of see Grace's little tooth that has popped through. I have yet to get a good one, but we will someday.

In other news, Grace loves to help me read the paper on Sundays now. Well really she likes to eat it.

Grace has also started to have some seperation anixety lately. Basically if you leave the room without her she flips out. She can't seem to be alone these days. So, some mornings she is right with me every second I am getting ready for work. Here she is checking out the shoe closet. I think she is ready for her own - a gal after my own heart.

Grace LOVES dinner time and I mean loves anytime she gets to sit in her highchair and eat. We recently started giving her some Cheerios and she has tried cooked potato and green bean. And she now thinks its fun to "eat" her tray...

Coming up this week, Aunty K comes to visit. Have a great week!

Goodbye 3 Jacks

Brian & I met at 3 Jacks in November of 2005. It was a place we went often as a friend owns and runs it. We spent a many of Sunday's there watching Bears football, had fun Satrday nights with friends and even had our wedding rehearsal dinner there. Now that we have the baby we don't go as often, but with 3 Jacks closing it is hard not to get sad and sentimental. Since 3 Jacks is closing Monday I believe we headed there Friday night for one last time since we were heading to Fort Collins for Easter. We invited some friends out to join us as we said our goodbyes. And Grace got in on the action too having dinner there and chatting with everyone. We will miss you 3 Jacks. Thank you for the memories and for bringing Brian & I together. 3 Jacks will always have a special place in our hearts.
