Standing up!

Grace continues to grow and change so fast. Her new skill that she loves practicing over and over again is pulling herself up on any and everything.

Other than pulling herself up, Grace is busy cutting teeth - I think two for sure and unfortunately seemed to have gotten a stomach bug. I am home this afternoon with her, Brian was this morning and yesterday since my work is pretty busy right now with our upcoming conference. It appears she is starting to bounce back as she is eating a little today and playing more and is not as fragile - thank goodness. We have been pretty blessed she hasn't gotten sick much (knock on wood), so here is hoping this is the last sickness for a while.

Here are some more fun photos.

Grace sporting her petunia shirt - Grandma G calls her petunia all the time.

Showing off her tongue.

I think this is such a cute picture even if Grace's eyes are closed.

Swim lessons, Mother's Day and more.

Grace has had two swim lessons now. Mostly it is a chance for us to get her used to a big body of water. She is still a bit skeptical of it all and hates being put on her back. She watches the other kids. Grace tends to like to study any and everything. On Saturday she seemed to get into it  little more by spalshing and such. Check her out in her cute bikini from her Aunt Rachel.

The day after her first swim lesson was Mother's Day - my first. We celebrated as a family and it was a nice day. Brian & Grace got me some nice gifts and we had fun with my mom at brunch at Elway's.

Now some more pictures.

Checking out the ads.

Playing with her turtle from Grandma & Granpa Olson.

Here Grace is trying to figure out how she can get outside like Huck is.

And finally it appears she will soon be pulling herself up on tables and such...lord help us!

Our baby is not such a baby anymore. She is cutting her second tooth, which this time around teething is way worse and we are all ready for it to be in already!

Not much going on this week other than our normal work-daycare routine and swim lessons Saturday. Hope everyone is having a great week.

Happy 10 Month Birthday Grace!

10 very fast months have gone by. Grace's pictures are sans glasses since they still aren't ready yet with her new RX. She is getting so big. Time sure flies.

Kisses!

Surgery - Again.

I took Grace to the eye doctor this morning for her eye check up. This one was to see if her "medically patching" - blurring of her good eye to make her use her bad - was working and if her bad eye was straightening out. I already knew what the doctor was going to say before she said it - surgery is needed to straighten her right eye in hopes that it will get her brain to recognize that now she has a lens (via her glasses) that she can see out of. So, looks like she has to have another surgery again in mid-June probably. And then it appears she is a bit far-sighted now in her right eye which means she needs a new lens. The eye glass place where we got her glasses has a policy of like 90 days or something of a free exchange of lenses if the RX changes...I think I am out of that window by like 20 days, but pleaded with the lady to have it be free, she said she would see what she could do for me. I will pay what I have to for my little girl to see, but frankly if I can get away with not paying $350 again for ONE lens I would be thrilled. And the eye glass place had to keep her glasses since the lens will be thicker now, so now Grace has no glasses for about the next week and she looks kind of funny without them. It is funny how we are so used to them now.

So that was our fun morning. Another, here we go again moment, but at least we got a 5 month break from surgeries. I will keep you updated as soon as I know the surgery date. It is another outpatient surgery which is great and generally people recover pretty quick too. Grace is such a trooper. I have to say today was probably her first eye appointment where she didn't lose it with the doctor when they shined light in her eyes - she did great!

Learning Lots of New Things

Grace continues to amaze us daily with the new things she can do or even loves to do. Like eat remotes - her favorite toy. Who knew we didn't need to buy toys, just give her remotes.

Likes to help mom in the kitchen.

Type on the computer. She is even trying to help me with this post right now.

Grace is now able to pull up to her knees in the crib. It won't be much longer and she will figure out how to make it to her feet.

And is sporting lots of ponytails and headbands these days to keep her bangs out of her face. We may have to look into trimming them soon.

And all of these ponytails make for crazy hair at bath time.

Grace is also waving hi and bye and is even trying to blow kisses. She just puts her hand up to her mouth and blows on it. It is so cute! She is also saying mama, just in time for Mother's Day. She may  not be saying it to me or have any clue what she is saying, but it is great to hear her say her M's now - melts my heart every time.

Coming up this week, we have our first swim lesson on Saturday, my first Mother's Day and a eye doctor appointment next week. Our little baby is growing so fast and continues to amaze us!
