On the move...almost.

Grace continues to practice her walking moves. The other night though she did walk about 7 or 8 steps to me and then later to Brian. It is pretty exciting! She is so darn cute as she takes her steps so timidly. In these two videos check her out as she keeps on practicing. In the first she is busy keeping her music going as she goes round and round her toy. In the second she is pushing her new Pooh train. Excuse the black window at the beginning and the vomit cam - still working on my video skills! :p

Wonder how much longer before she is running after us....

Grace's Busy Birthday Weekend

Grace has been a busy girl all weekend long. Between her party and having her Nana and Papa here, she (and we) have been going non-stop. Which makes for a cranky baby (and mommy & daddy) this Sunday evening. Hopefully once we get back to our normal schedule she will be a much happier camper.

So let's get to the photos. Here Grace is on her actual birthday - July 15 - opening presents and playing with some of her new toys.

On Friday, July 16, I had a to finish a questionnaire for the doctor before she had her one year appointment. One of the questions was if you give your child a marker or crayon will they scribble on the paper. Well I had figured she was to young to do this because I knew she would eat the marker, but here she is trying it out. She did scribble, and she did eat the marker too.

After we colored we headed to the pool for some fun since it has been so hot here.

This next photo is on Saturday morning. I kept forgetting that when she turned one I wanted to start marking how tall she is on the growth chart I got her a  few months ago. Here she is checking out how tall she is.

Now the party pictures. We had over 30 friends and family join us in our small condo. Grace got lots of fun new toys and clothes and had some fun eating her cake. We even got a great surprise from her Great-Uncle Mike who came in from Chicago. Here are a bunch of photos. Our friend Cameron got some great ones for us, but here are just a few.

Happy Birthday Grace! You are one - and your parents survived. Now onto the toddler years - how did that happen already?!

One Year Photo Shoot

We went and saw my friend Ann yesterday and she took over 200 photos of Grace and some of our family. Here is a photo of her from our preview and then the link so see them all. The password is Olson. Check them out and let me know which ones you like.

Enjoy!

1 Year Stats

We headed over and saw Dr. Carlson today for Grace's one year check up. She weighed in at 19 pounds 6 ounces and is 28.5 inches long - both in the 25th percentile. She got a clean bill of health and then 4 shots which she was not happy about! We will make it up to her tomorrow during her party by giving her lots of cake and presents.

We still can't believe she is one already!

Happy 4th of July!

For the 4th of July weekend we headed up to Fort Collins to see Grandma G and hang out. We had lots of fun showing Grace her new little pool that GG got her and set up in the backyard, going out to lunch at Snooze and later that night Grace got her first taste of GG's homemade spaghetti and meatballs which she couldn't get enough of.

Oh this is good!

We noticed Grace was sneezing a lot on Saturday and sure enough by Sunday morning she woke up congested and with a runny nose. And the weather fit her cold on the 4th, it was quite dreary and almost cold here for a bit. It eventually warmed up, but our baby was not happy most of her first 4th of July, but she tried!

Outfit #1 of that day had to be warmer than the original 4th outfit. We headed out to a friend's for a BBQ and it had finally warmed up so Grace got to wear her 4th outfit and had fun practicing walking and playing with the other kids there.

Grace didn't last long at the BBQ and we headed home. No fireworks this year. Hopefully next year she will be healthy and ready for some fun. We spent the 5th of July battling a fever. She is much better now and gearing up for her first birthday, the arrival of Nana & Papa Charlie and her party. Stay tuned for lots of birthday photos.

How is my baby almost one?!

Practice makes Perfect

Grace usually HATES when you hold her hands for any reason, but tonight she let Brian hold them and do some practice walking. She couldn't get enough of it after bathtime. Check her out.

Lots of standing and a new tooth.

As we are two short weeks away from when Grace turns 1, we are amazed at how much she has grown and changed over the last year. Right now she is all about standing. She also is loving walking along tables and couches. Other parents have told us it won't be long until she is walking around - we can't wait to see it!

In other news, one of Grace's top teeth has come in and it appears that the other one isn't too far behind. Teething is no fun, but she is doing pretty well for the most part with this new tooth - thank goodness. Otherwise Grace just continues to be a chatterbox saying things like hi, mama, dada and yeah and one "word" that we think is for our dog Huck, but it sounds like a bark.

This weekend we are heading to Fort Collins to see Grandma G and hang out and probably play in a mini pool GG got for little G. We aren't so sure Grace will stay up late enough for fireworks, but I am sure she will enjoy a BBQ with friends and time with GG.

I'll wrap up with a couple more photos.
