A New First for Grace

I thought this little story deserved its own post. Tonight I was on my own as Brian went to the Rockies game and Grace and I were going through her normal routine. She was taking her bath and we were playing when she stopped to do her grunts which means only one thing - she had to poop. The last time she pooped in the tub I stressed over whether all her toys were sanitized since they all end up in her mouth and such and didn't feel like the tub was clean enough for her for weeks. This time though, I had a plan. I lifted her out of the tub and sat her on the toilet. That's right folks, at the ripe old age of 14 months Grace pooped on the potty for the first time. When she was done (or so I thought) I put her to the side and showed her and we cheered - then she pooped on the floor.

It was so funny and a girls night I won't soon forget!

Mischief Girl

Grace has become our little mischief girl of late. Attempting to climb on things and loves to sit on the couch...but really sitting on the couch equals trying to walk on it and us saying no, no, no, we sit on the couch. Thankfully she is still in one piece. Tonight when I went to start her bath, I came back to find she had figured out how to climb up to the seat on her Pooh train. She was just sitting there grinning away. You just can't help but smile at that little face...until she makes your heart stop trying to get down!

Here she is on  Sunday "sitting" on her chair. She thought as long as she was on her bottom she was in the clear - such a stinker.

On Saturday while Brian was getting his hair cut we thought we would get Grace's bangs cut. Well, she wasn't having it. The poor stylist did a pretty good job making her bangs even considering Grace screamed and was moving her head side to side the whole time. Here she is after though, happy as a clam that no one is holding her head and she is free to roam.

Grace is finally on the mend from her ear infections and her nose appears to finally have stopped running. Brian & I are slowly recovering as well from these colds. Hopefully we all stay healthy for a while.

A Couple Videos

Giggle time.

Don't bother me mom, I'm eating peaches!

Rough Day

Today was a rough day for little Grace. Grace has been sick all weekend mostly with just a runny nose. She has been pretty happy except when we wipe her nose, then she loses it. She has been eating and drinking fine so I was wavering back and forth on taking her to the doctor, but the nurse said we should probably come in. We went in and she has a double ear infection. I was very surprised considering she hadn't been pulling at her ears or anything. Before we saw the pediatrician we had an already scheduled eye appointment to get her eye checked about 6 weeks after her last surgery. Dr. Braverman said that her eye has not moved and that she may need to surgically move it out more to hopefully get Grace' brain to start using it. I can't say I am surprised. We have been thinking some days the eye was coming out more, but for the most part it has stayed in. So, we will be having surgery number 7 come November.

Enough of the doom and gloom, let's check out some of Grace's cuteness over the last few weeks.

Here she is inside a bag - she kept trying to get in it so Brian set her in it. She thought it was pretty fun.

And of course the start of football has brought out Grace's fan apparel to cheer with daddy.

Grace has begun practicing with her spoon and is doing a pretty decent job, but still uses her hands mostly.

And likes to put food in her hair. It moisturizes right?

This past week she hit the 14 month mark - growing up so fast and is SO cute!

One of her latest favorite activities is to put things in my purse. I have often gone to work with a book or toy in there. I think she wants to make sure I have fun at work.

It is now time to concentrate on getting everyone healthy again and disinfecting the house!

A few photos.

Grace loves to help read the mail or the newspaper. Here she is checking out an ad and running to me to say we should buy something.

I think she is already picking out her favorite items - we are in trouble.

Grace has one more message....
