Aunty K's Wedding

Last weekend we flew to Omaha for Aunty K and Uncle Mark's wedding. We got to fly with GG and Grace was very excited to help GG with her luggage.

While we were waiting to get the rental car, Brian gave Grace a cookie and she was perfectly content to sit in the middle of the floor and chow down.

The first night we were there we got to hang out with Great Uncle Jim who brought Wayne's Pizza - GG's favorite - from Chicago. Grace also got to know Aunty K's dog Birdie. The two of them became fast friends. Birdie found out real quick that Grace gives lots of treats.

Here is a great picture of Brian & Grace while we were hanging out in our hotel room. Love this one.

Grace also got to play a lot with her cousin Elizabeth who is two months younger. They had a ball running around together and sharing toys.

The day of the wedding Grace was out of sorts. I imagine napping on the go and being out of her routine had a lot to do with it. We got her to the church and eventually got Lovie out of her hands and she walked down the aisle - twice! She followed GG and then realized I wasn't with her and came back to walk with me. I can't wait to see the photographer's photos, but here are a few we got.

The beautiful bride.

The flower girl getting last minute instructions.

Here Grace is walking up the aisle the first time.

Here is Grace at the airport on the way home - she was ready!

We had lots of fun and are so happy for Katie & Mark. We hope they have long and happy life together. I know Brian is very excited to officially have another man to enjoy the holidays with on the Wadas side since he is usually surrounded by all of us girls! Welcome to the family Mark!!!

First Parade

Grace & I headed downtown a couple of weeks ago to meet my friends Marci & Derek and their son  Isaiah for the St. Patrick's Day parade. I had no idea it was so popular here. There were people everywhere and navigating a stroller through them all was not easy. We eventually found our friends and sat down to enjoy the parade. Grace loved all of the dogs there and the music. She was bopping about and enjoyed watching other kids. And she was super excited when Isaiah shared a cookie with her. We had lots of fun and I am thinking Grace will continue to enjoy parades as she gets older. Here are a few photos from our adventure.

Squeaker Shoes!!!!

Ear Update

Grace did wonderful as always with surgery. Coming out of anesthesia this time was rough though. She  more or less wrestled us for around a half hour while she came out of it. I think Brian & I more or less looked at one another and said no more surgery - eight is enough!!!!

Once we got home, she was pretty clingy and we just snuggled and hung out most of the day. When she was ready to eat we treated her to some mac & cheese. Grace was chowing down when all of the sudden she decided that she was tired and stopped and leaned her head back. Surgery is takes a lot out of a little person.

Poor thing was so tired, but didn't want to leave her noodles either. She took a good nap and slept through the night and the next day was back to normal.

Now that we are done with the ear drops she is a much happier camper. Although, I think she is getting a couple of new teeth so she has woken a few times during the night and getting up earlier making for tired parents. She is repeating more and more words which makes me wonder if she is hearing better now which is a good thing.

Otherwise Grace is doing great and is always exploring and busy. Later this week we will head to Omaha for Aunty K and Uncle Mark's wedding. Grace will make her debut as a flower girl. Stay tuned for what is no doubt going to be a good story and cute photos.
