Surgery Number 8

We found out Friday that Grace has to have surgery again. This time though it is not on her eye, it is for her ears. She has had 5 ear infections in the last 6 months and our pediatrician sent us to an ENT to get her checked. We weren't supposed to get into the ENT until March 3, but while we were home on Thursday because Grace was super sick I called and there was a cancellation on Friday. YAY for getting in early! The ENT took a quick look and said yes she needs ear tubes and also to get her adenoids taken out. A quick 20 minute procedure and she should be good as new with any luck. The recovery is supposed to be pretty easy and I have heard from other moms that ear tubes are wonderful!

While we aren't thrilled she has to deal with surgery again, I am kind of excited about it so that hopefully Grace is no longer in pain. There is nothing worse than seeing her hurt with these ear infections.

So, surgery is schedule for March 4 right now. I'm waiting to hear back from the nurse on whether flying a couple weeks after is a problem or not. From what I've read it shouldn't be, but I want to make sure.

Here we go again - at least we know how the surgery process works and should be relatively easy for us with any luck. I'll keep you all updated as we continue on this adventure!

Playtime!

Grace is always busy playing. She currently loves to go through my clothes and try to put them on. It is pretty darn cute. She is already starting to dress up.

Of course playtime doesn't always involve toys. She loves to just sit on random boxes or step stools. Here she is modeling on a Pampers box.

She also likes to use the Pampers box as a changing table for her baby. She brings out her diapers and tries to put them on her. It is so cute. Sometimes I can't believe how she has picked up how to do things. She is truly a studier and then gets to work trying things out.

And finally just some general cuteness. Grace is into sitting on any and everything. Here she is sitting on Huck's food bin...not sure why she felt she has to sit there, but it is the perfect size for her.

She really is my child!

I was going through some old photos for my sister when I found this one:

That is my mom and me. I am 14 months there. At first I thought oh there is Grace - nope its me. She finally looks like me! Well at least when I was a child anyway. I think she might be my child after all.

Activity Time

Grace is on the move and loving to try everything. She likes to try and steal the camera and will say "cheese" the second she hears it come on. Most of our pictures end up like this these days,, Grace coming in for the steal and saying cheese:

She now is liking to help me cook...it is hard though with how small our kitchen is and keeping her away from dangerous things, but she is usually content standing on a stool and playing with some tupperware and a spoon.

Grace is also loving to read. Well really she just looks at books, but she often likes to sit in the recliner in her room and check out a book or too.

She is also enjoying coloring as well. Grace often walks around with her magna doodle toy and says "draw" all the time. So I decided we should try to color more. She is getting the hang of it and making some masterpieces.

Grace & I have been busy going to swim lessons on Saturdays. Hopefully I will get some pictures during the next round of lessons that we start this Saturday. She loves pool time! She often wants to jump out of my arms and go off on her own - little miss independent.

Otherwise we are just busy staying warm here in Denver. We are ready for spring!
