Backyard Time

Grave loves to swim, I mean LOVE! So since we knew a mini pool at GG's house was such a hit we got one for our house. It was a lovely 95 degrees yesterday so we bought the pool and Grace had a grand old time playing in the pool and running around through the sprinkler. Her friend Colin came over and played too.

Finally, our neighbors behind us have a little sandbox like this one and Grace is always watching those kids, with I guess you would say, jealousy that she doesn't have one. Our friends Ann & Neil who are moving were very generous and gave us their kids since their boys have outgrown it. Grace is in heaven since we got it today. I had to bribe her to go take a nap and a break from her sandbox! Needless to say I think the pool and sandbox will be her two favorite spots this summer!

Zoo time!

A couple of weeks ago we went and met our friends Cameron and Colin at the zoo. It was a nice day and we had fun exploring. We hadn't been to the zoo in a while and Grace seemed to like it.

Posing with her "girlie" doll she had to bring to the zoo.

As tall as a penguin now.

Grace's first trip to the zoo in June 2010 she was about half the size of a penguin - my how she has grown!

Grace's favorite book right  now is "Brown bear, brown bear what do you see?" She loved watching this brown bear walk back and forth.

Colin getting excited watching the monkeys.

We had lots of fun!

Garden Time

Now that we have a yard it has been fun planting flowers and some vegetables/fruit. A few weeks ago we planted some flowers as well as a tomato plant, pumpkin, cucumber and strawberries. The tomato and cucumber plants are doing pretty well as is the pumpkin. However the strawberries took a hit when we had a big hail storm last week. Hopefully they recover soon. Grace loves her garden gloves and getting dirty!

We even have a nice rose bush that is doing well and we have had lots of fresh flowers in our house of late which I love!

Here's hoping we have a green thumb and our garden grows!
