Pumpkin Patch

We headed out to find a pumpkin a few weeks ago. It was a perfect day out and Grace had fun picking her pumpkins and getting to go on a hay ride. This is a yearly tradition I love and can't wait to go as a family of four next year.

Grace is undecided still on what she will for sure be for Halloween. At first she was adamant about being Spider Girl - now we are on a butterfly. We've also heard astronaut and princess. I plan to have her pick just one later this week and stick with it. It should be fun this year since she gets Halloween a bit more. Photos of our dressed up gal to come!

Dance Class!

I signed Grace up for a dance class through the rec center here. The first class she would not participate and was super upset. It was a class where the parents leave the room and I think she nor I was prepared for that. However, since that first class she has done great and is excited every Saturday morning for dance class. Her last class was Saturday and the parents were invited in to see what their children learned. It was pretty darn cute to watch these three year old's dance around. Here are some photos and a video from her class.

Grace's school is now offering dance so we told her baby brother wanted to buy her a dance class or a session on the fun bus there. She has so far chosen the fun bus. I'm sure though we will do dance again soon!

Maternity Photos

We are pretty sure this will be our last baby so I wanted to get some nice photos of us as a family of 3 and of me looking like a pretty pregnant gal. We met up with a local photographer in September and this is what she captured. I love these photos and will treasure them forever. Being pregnant this time around has been rough, but we have almost made it to meeting baby boy and we can't wait!

Go Bears!

Colorado Springs Trip

Labor day weekend we decided to venture out of town and have some fun. We headed to Colorado Springs to do some things there. It was a busy weekend and we did a lot. It was tiring for all, but we had a fun little mini vacation as a family of 3.
We started off the trip by heading to Manitou Springs to walk around the little town and check things out. Grace was happy to get some ice cream to start her trip off.
Our first night we went to a Sky Sox game - the minor league team of the Rockies. They had fireworks that night too. Grace liked them a lot. She said after the game "those were loud, but I still liked them."

On our second day we headed to the Royal Gorge - the largest and highest suspension bridge. It is kind of scary. It scared me at around age 10-12 and it did again 20 years later! Grace didn't seem phased at all which is good.
Grace was still a bit tired and waking up after sleeping on the way to the gorge.
We posed with this Elk - he was pretty cool looking.

That night we headed back to the Springs to see the balloon glow at the balloon festival. It had been a long day and Grace wasn't really into the balloons and thought they were scary and loud which surprised us since after she loved the fireworks so much. We are pretty sure she was just exhausted.

On our last day we headed to the zoo. At the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo you can feed the giraffes and get up close and personal. Grace liked to watch, but wasn't into feeding them.

We had a fun trip together and it was so nice to get out of town for a weekend even if it were just an hours drive away. I'm sure we will have many adventures in our future.

Rockies Game

A few weeks ago Brian got some tickets from his work for the Rockies game. We decided to take Grace to see how she would do. She did pretty well for the most part even though she got to stay up way past her bed time. It probably helped that we were in a suite and she could roam pretty easily and there was an endless supply of pizza and fruit. We also got to meet Dinger the Rockies mascot. Grace wasn't too sure about him. She wouldn't give him a high five or hug, but ever since then she keeps talking about seeing the dinosaur and not being scared this time.

We get to go to a Rockies game next week when the Cubs are in town. Here's hoping she is just as good then as she was on this night.
