Grace Turns 2!!!!

Brian & I still can't believe we have a two year old already. Time flew by and we are amazed at how quickly our little girl has grown. We had a busy fun weekend with Aunty K, GG, Nana & Papa Charlie all in town to help celebrate Grace's special day.

Where to begin...here is Grace holding her new panties GG got her. Grace isn't quite ready to potty train yet, but she shows interest now and then. And she insisted on wearing the panties over her diaper all afternoon.

We headed to the pool after nap time to for some fun in the sun. Swimming is Grace's favorite activity these days.

For dinner I made homemade spaghetti & meatballs - Grace's favorite food. We did naked spaghetti time - as you can see it is better if we just keep her naked and put her in the tub after dinner.

After dinner it was time for presents. She was into unwrapping them more this year, but once she unwrapped one thing she just wanted to play with that toy. She was spoiled as usual!

Then is was time for some birthday strawberry shortcake. She was pretty amazed by the candles and loved the cake - well whip cream really.

On Sunday we had a party at a local park for Grace. We had our friends join us in celebrating our baby turning 2. Here is Grace getting ready to go to her party.

Here are all of the cupcakes I made. They turned out pretty well.

Grace's cake.

If there is one thing Grace loves more than anything right now is that she loves to swing. It was hard to get her off the swing for her birthday festivities.

Time for birthday cake again.

Swinging with Nana.

More cake...why not?

It was a fun weekend and we were so happy our family and friends could celebrate with us. Here is to another fun year with our little girl - and stop growing so fast!

Wordless Wednesday - What? Is there something on my face?

As usual wordless Wednesday isn't so wordless for me! Here is Grace showing off her face while eating yogurt - her favorite food of late as long as its mommy's greek yogurt! I'm happy to share and glad she is loving something healthy. Isn't she cute?

Zoo Day

Last weekend Grace & I headed over to the zoo to meet our friends Traci & Mason for some zoo fun. We got there right when it opened and it was perfect - not to crowded and not to hot! We cruised around and checked out all of the animals and had a good time. Thanks Traci & Mason for a zoo date. We can't wait to do it again.

Here are some photos from our outing.

Happy Birthday America!

It has been a busy weekend around here. Saturday, Grace & I headed to GG's house for some pool fun. GG set up a pool just for Grace in the backyard. Before we swam we had lunch at a nearby cafe and when Grace was ready to go she grabbed GG's purse and said "let's go!" (see above photo)

Once we got back to GG's house we got our suits on and headed out. Grace loved swimming in a pool her size. I think she liked having all of the control and not having someone hold her. She had a ball swimming around.

Here is Grace in action in the pool. This video is partly for her our enjoyment because we love how she says things and will repeat us. It is pretty darn cute.

On Sunday, we headed to our friend Kenny & Brooke's house for a firework show and BBQ. Grace was sporting her festive dress and had lots of fun playing with other kids and eating chips - the child was pretty concerned about getting as many tortilla chips as possible. Even when the fireworks started, she stopped and checked them out, then turned to us and said I want more chips! The good news is she seemed to like the fireworks and didn't mind the loud noises.

Today was a pretty relaxing day around here. Brian had to work again so Grace & I hung out home and played and then Grace took a 3 hour nap - guess she was tired. We started the day with some bagels and cream cheese. I'm pretty sure Grace liked the cream cheese more than the bagels - it was all over her face.

After nap time we headed out for another BBQ at our friend Sarah & Cameron's home. Grace had fun playing with their son Colin and again eating chips - this time Doritos. We have a lot of healthy eating to make up for the two nights of chips for dinner.

This next picture cracks me up. I can only imagine she was saying in her head, mom seriously, enough with the camera!

But then she gave me her signature cheese move. Such a cutie.

Another fun weekend for all. We hope you all had a fun and safe 4th of July weekend!
